Mercer Island edges out Lake Washington | Prep girls soccer

The Mercer Island girls soccer team beat Lake Washington on Tuesday evening 1-0.

The Islanders earned the lead early on, when Michele Day scored, assisted by Laura Harrison in the 19th minute.

Goalie Corey Goelz was credited with the shutout, her second of the season.

The Islanders are 3-0 this season and will host Sammamish on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.
