Mercer Island races at Marymoor | Prep cross country

The Mercer Island cross country teams traveled to Marymoor Park in Redmond on Wednesday, Sept. 19 to take on Lake Washington and Interlake.

Individually for the boys, Daniel Mayer finished in fourth place in 17:22, while Matt Wotipka was sixth in 17:32. Nathan Cummings finished in 18:15 for 13th place, just ahead of James Wilson in 15th place and Kyle Weiss in 16th place, follwed by Tiger McBurney in 17th. Steven Woolston was 21st overall and Dylan Lesko finished in 19:03 for 22nd place.

On the girls side, Islander Alexa Bauman was second with a time of 20:47, while Sarah Bjarnason finished in fourth place. Linden Elggren was fifth and Rachel Van Gelder was ninth. Ella Green took 11th place in 22:25, Madeline Zeldes was 13th, Cecelia Rosenman was 16th and Kristine Melin took 18th place. Kaya McRuer finished in 19th place overall.

The Islanders will travel to Lake Sammamish State Park on Saturday, Sept. 22 for the Bellevue Invitational that begins at 9:30 a.m. Next Wednesday, the Islanders will travel to Sammamish for a KingCo meet against the Totems and Mount Si.
