Mercer Island beats Newport | Boys prep water polo

The Mercer Island boys water polo team continued their surge through league matches, beating Newport on Wednesday, Sept. 26 10-4.

The Islanders, who finished second overall in a tournament the weekend prior in Oregon, returned to league games against Newport at the Newport Hill Swim/Tennis Club.

The Islanders will travel to the King County Aquatic Center for a match against defending state champions Bellevue on Monday, Oct. 1. The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. The team will host Ingraham on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Mercer Island Country Club in a 2 p.m. game.
