Mercer Island falls to Bellevue, finishes third in KingCo | Boys prep golf

In the final match of the regular season and the game that would determine who finished second and third in KingCo this year, the Mercer Island boys golf team lost by one stroke to Bellevue.
The Wolverines won at Twin Rivers Golf Course on Tuesday, Oct. 9 186-187 to take second place, with Mercer Island finishing in third.
The Islaners finished the regular season with a 5-2 record. Interlake won the regular season KingCo crown undefeated.
Against Bellevue on Tuesday, Zach Evens was the top finished, shooting a 34, while Josh Graham and Braden Williams each had 36. Eric Kim finished with 40 strokes, Luke Mounger and Ryan Nguyen both had 41 and Sam Varon had 42. William Medlock had 45, William Mansfield had 47 and Drew Christofferson shot 49.
The team moves into the post season next week, playing in the KingCo tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Willows Run Golf Course.
