The Mercer Island girls soccer team lost to Liberty on Thursday, Oct. 18. The final score was 2-0. It’s the Islanders second league loss this season.

“It was a pretty hard fought game,” said Islanders head coach Terry Ryan.

Liberty scored in the 60th minute and in an attempt to tie the game, Ryan said the team pushed forward into Liberty territory, but the Patriots turned the tables, countering with a second goal.

Mercer Island, now 11-2-1 in league, will host Mount Si on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m., the final home game of the season. The team will travel to play Bellevue on Thursday, Oct. 25.
