Mercer Island ties with Bellevue | Girls prep soccer

The Mercer Island girls soccer team ended the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 25 in a tie with Bellevue. The final score was 2-2.
Bellevue struck first, in the 17th minute, when Isabelle Butterfield scored an unassisted goal. Mercer Island responded when Kianna Chang, assisted by Namya Malik scored in the 24th minute to tied the game at one goal each.
Mercer Island’s Marissa Hammerstrom scored an unassisted goal in the 59th minute to give Mercer Island the 2-1 lead, but just before the end of the game, in the 78th minute, Bellevue’s Sabrina Mohazzabfa scored to once again tie the match.
