MIHS alum earns college conference honors | Sports brief

Mercer Island High School graduate Laura Brindley, now a freshman at Wellesley College in Massachusetts, was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference women's cross country runner of the week for the week ending Oct. 21.

Brindley helped the Blue to the 2012 Wellesley Invitational title, winning her event. She was first of 32 runners in 20:22.42, and led seven other members of the team.

The Wellesley College cross country team has four wins this season, finished in the top three of two of it's other races.
