Kamiakin beats Mercer Island in state tournament | Girls prep soccer

The Mercer Island girls soccer team’s trip to the state tournament ended on Tuesday evening, after losing to Kamiakin.

The Islanders traveled to Kennewick to play their first state game, falling 1-0.

In a tough, back and forth match, the game’s only goal game toward the end of the first half, when Kamiakin scored off a penalty kick.

Despite closes chances in the rest of the game, Mercer Island couldn’t find the back of the net.

The Islanders finished the season with a 14-4-2 record overall.
