Mercer Island pins Juanita | Prep wrestling

The Mercer Island wrestling team beat Juanita on Thursday, Dec. 20. The final score was 52-18.
In the 113 weight class, Taylan Yuasa won by forfeit, while Trevor Gullstad pinned Austin Wells to win the 126 division. Jacob Pruchno pinned Daniel Smith in the 132 division, and Mike Ong pinned Ben Markey in the 138 match. Kenji Walker beat Allen Moeung by major decision 17-7 in the 145 weight class, and Juanita’s Pierce Belleman pinned Luca Caruccio in the 152 division. Juanita won the 160 match when Mason McDaniel pinned Mercer Island’s Jack Vassau and Nick Chandler pinned Bradley Reubish in the 170 match. Chris Richards won the 182 division by forfeit, as did Evan Condon in the 195 division. Andrew Picton won the 220 match by forfeit, and Juanita’s Thomas Toki pinned Ben O’Connell in the 285 match.
The Islanders next match will be against Lake Washington in Kirkland on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
