MIHS grad continues key role at Emory | Sports brief

Mercer Island High School graduate and Emory University junior Hannah Lilly is continuing her key role for the women's basketball team, helping the Eagles to an 8-1 start this year. After nine games Emory is ranked No. 18.

Lilly has started in eight games this season and is tied for third in the University Athletic Association with a 15 point per game average. She has also posted 21 three-point field goals and is tied for the top spot in the conference.

Lilly, who graduated from MIHS in 2010, is currently 13th in Emory's all-time scoring list, with 842 points and has 136 three pointers for the No. 3 all time chart.

Emory, located outside Atlanta, will next play Piedmont College on Dec. 29.
