Early lead pushes Mercer Island over Interlake | Boys prep basketball

The Mercer Island boys basketball team beat Interlake on Friday, Jan. 18. The final score was 81-57.
Mercer Island scored 22 points in the first quarter and 23 in the second, while holding the Saints to 15 points in the entire first half.
Interlake picked up speed in the second half, outscoring the Islanders 20-19 and 22-17 in the final two quarters, but the Saints were not able to overcome the first half deficit.
Kaleb Warner scored 20 points for the team in the win, Nick Nordale added 19 and Joe Rasmussen posted 12 points. Espen Platou added eight points, Jake Shaddle had six, as did Max Tilden. Daniel Sims posted four points, while Nikhil Misra and Jake Stenberg each had three points for Mercer Island.
Mercer Island will travel to play Mount Si on Tuesday, Jan. 22 for a 7:30 p.m. game.
