Mercer Island grad named Conference Carolinas player of the week

Mercer Island High School graduate Daniel Shields was named the Conference Carolinas player of the week for men's lacrosse.

Shields is a member of the Mount Olive College team, which notched a 24-5 win over Young Harris College on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Shields was one of five Trojans to score at least two goals in the game and the first to score a hat trick. Shields, along with younger brother Matt combined for 12 of the team's goals.
