Mercer Island beats Federal Way by one run | Prep fastpitch

The Mercer Island faspitch team earned a first win of the season on Wednesday, March 13, beating Federal Way by one run.
The final score was 8-7.
Federal Way had the early lead, up 2-0 at the end of the first, and added four runs in the second for a 6-0 lead. Despite being down 7-0 going into the bottom of the third, Mercer Island found it's rhythm, scoring three runs in the third and fourth to close the gap to 7-6.
The Islanders scored two more runs in the sixth inning to take the game by one.
Natalie Ricklefs was 2-3 at the plate with three RBI, while L. Blakey was 3-3 at bat with one RBI.
The Islanders will play Garfield on Friday, March 15 at Bobby Morris Field in Seattle at 4 p.m.
