Mercer Island dominates Lake Washington | Boys prep lacrosse

The Mercer Island boys lacrosse team earned their first victory in the 2013 season, handily beating Lake Washington Wednesday night 19-5.

Mercer Island's Justin Rorem had three goals in the game, with two assists, while Peter Mahony added three goals himself, along with two assists. Steen Swedstedt had two goals, as did Grant Preisler, Devlin Conway, Evan Condon and Cooper Johnson. Jake Leibsohn had one goal, along with Brett Bottomley and Zach Taylor. Ben Rothenberg made five saves for the team, while Scotty Lee made two.

The Islanders will travel to play Auburn Riverside on Friday, March 15 in a 9 p.m. game at Sumner High School.
