There are plenty of high school graduates from Mercer Island and the greater Seattle area playing lacrosse in college, but rarely do so many play in one game.

On March 13, when Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania played Whittier College from California, five local lacrosse players faced off.

Former Mercer Island teammates Grayson Roze, who attend Swarthmore, and Peter Iani, playing for Whittier, played against each other. They were joined by Seattle area grads Thomas Brook, Max Jones and Eric Omri.

Swarthmore College won the game in Los Angeles 12-9.
