Mercer Island blanks Lake Washington | Girls prep tennis

The Mercer Island girls tennis team managed to get in a win over Lake Washington on Tuesday, March 19 before being rained out. The Islanders won 6-0.

In the single competition, Nora Tan beat Ellen Pearson 6-0, 6-2 and Caroline Hamilton beat Amanda Levine 6-2, 6-2, while Sarah Sweet beat Kelly Barnes 6-3, 6-0 and Jamie Mounger beat Sara Tamai 6-1, 6-2.

In the doubles competition, Lydia Venditti and Gabby Venditti beat Marissa Kirk and Caroline Ross 6-2, 6-0, while Caroline Dillon and Melanie Lee beat Kim Koshman and Grace Muenz 6-1, 6-0. Sarah Kahan and Lark Reusch beat Kristi Lynon and Emily Chang 1-0 before being rained out.

The Islanders will host Sammamish on Tuesday, March 26 in a 3:45 p.m. match.
