Mercer Islander ties for second at HotSpots basketball competition | Sports brief

Mercer Island student Tony Swendrowski, a third-grader at West Mercer, recently tied for second place at the local HotSpots basketball competition.

For the second year in a row, Swendrowski will compete in the state competition. The Islander plays basketball for the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club and plays with a Seattle team.
