Mercer Island beats Overlake by one | Girls prep lacrosse

The Mercer Island girls lacrosse team beat Overlake on Monday, March 25 by one point. The final score was 17-16 for the Islanders.

Mercer Island was up 9-7 at the end of the first half, but Overlake outscored the team 9-8 in the second to close the gap.

Tyler Sherper scored six goals for Mercer Island in the win, adding two ground balls to her stats for the season. Saffron Snethen posted four goals and one ground ball, while goalie Andrea Hatsukami made nine saves in the game.

The Islanders will play Lakeside on Wednesday, March 27 in a 5:15 p.m. game at Lakeside High School.

Mercer Island is 2-1-0 this season, while Lakeside is 5-0-0.
