Mercer Island falls to Interlake | Prep fastpitch

The Mercer Island fastpitch team lost to Interlake in a KingCo match on Tuesday, March 26. The final score was 7-3 for the Saints.

Mercer Island was up early after scoring a run in the first inning. Neither team was able to score again until the top of the seventh when Interlake tied the game at 1-1. The Saints went on to score six more runs in the extra inning, while holding the Islanders to just two runs.

Maiya Loucks was 2-4 at the plate, while Morgan Peyou hit a triple in her only hit of the game, but also scored two runs scored, and had an RBI. Peyou pitched for all eight innings for the Islanders, giving up 12 hits, five errors and striking out one.

The team will play at Juanita on Thursday, March 28 in a 4:30 p.m. game.
