Mercer Island beats Sammamish by 28 strokes | Girls prep golf

The Mercer Island girls golf team notched another KingCo win this season, beating Sammamish on Thursday, March 28 by 28 strokes. The final score was Mercer Island 234, Sammamish 262.

Individually, Mercer Island’s Madison Pearson finished in first place with 45 strokes, at Jefferson Park Golf Course which has a par of 36. Vanna Orecchio was second with 46, Katie Rorem was third with 47, Carsen Harkin was fourth for the Islanders with a 48 and Jane Peterson finished in fifth place with a 49.

The team will take next week off from competition for spring break.
