Mercer Island girls compete at Lake Washington Invitational | Girls prep track and field

The Mercer Island girls track and field team traveled to Kirkland on Saturday, April 27 for the annual Lake Washington Invitational.

Laura Harrison finished in 10th place in 400 meter race in 59.23 seconds, while Sarah Bjarnason was 14th in the 800 meters event in 2:20.49, while Alida Scalzo was 39th in 2:29.58. Scalzo was 18th overall in the 1,500 meter race in 4:58.03.

In the 3,000 meter event, CeCe Rosenman finished in 21st place in 11:08.70, followed by Lindsen Elggren in 24th place in 11:12.34.

The girls 4x200 relay team of Victoria Gersch, Latrevian Saunders, Lorial Yeadon and Harrison finished in fifth place in 1:47.86.

Kris Brackmann was 11th overall in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet 10 inches.
