Mercer Island defeats Interlake | Girls prep tennis

The Mercer Island girls prep tennis team defeated Interlake on Monday, April 29 in a home match. The Islanders won 7-0.

In the singles competition, senior Nora Tan beat Lina Larson 6-2, 6-3, while Gabby Venditti beat Maggie Locke 6-0, 6-1. Melanie Lee beat Grace Hsien 0-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5).

In the doubles matches, Caroline Dillon and Caroline Hamilton beat Shayna McDonald and Melissa Long 6-3, 6-1 and Ashley Larson and Jamie Mounger beat Setareh Rock and Kendall Watanabe 6-3, 7-5. Catherine Seifert and Julia Glick beat Julia Liu and Vickie Zlatinov 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5).

Mercer Island will host Bellevue on Tuesday, April 30 in the Islanders final home match of the season. The start time is 3:45 p.m. at the MIHS tennis courts.
