Mercer Island begins playoffs as No. 3 seed | Girls prep lacrosse

The Mercer Island girls lacrosse team will begin the playoffs this week, seeded as the No. 3 team in the state.

The Islanders, currently 6-0 in league and 10-2 overall this season, will begin the post season with a match against Garfield on Tuesday, May 7 at 8 p.m. at Mercer Island High School.

Garfield, a fellow Alki Conference team, is 6-5-1 this season.

If Mercer Island wins on Tuesday, the team will play on Friday, May 10 before the Mercer Island boys game against the winner of the Evergreen and Stadium match, also being played on Tuesday.

The state championships will be held on Friday, May 17 at Mercer Island High School.
