The Mercer Island High School football team recently participated in the annual Skyline 7-on-7 Invitational.

In the Lineman Challenge the Islanders won the tug-a-war competition for the second straight year, beating Eastlake.

Erik Pedersen finished the kicking competition in second place overall, while the freshman team, led by coach Gary Shavey, won two out of it's three matches, beating Peninsula, WF West and Skyline. The varsity and JV teams also played in six to seven matches each day against 3A and 4A teams.
