The Northwest Lady Sharks 12U fastpitch team recently played in the Joint Base Lewis McChord Wounded Warrior Fund tournament in mid-July.

During the tournament, held at SERA fields in Tacoma and at the McChord Air Force Base, the team was undefeated. All proceeds raised went to the Wounded Warrior Fund, which helps injured veterans.

The Lady Sharks beat the Federal Way Knights 14-0 in the semifinal, and beat the Mosquito Squad team 8-2 in the finals to win the championship.

The team includes Mercer Island residents Olivia Kane and Angelina Barokas. The team is coached by Ken Jones, Brian Hoke, John Studioso and Jason Carter.
