Mercer Island Youth Soccer Club equipment drive Sunday, Aug. 25 | Sports brief

The Mercer Island Youth Soccer Club is hosting it's first ever equipment drive on Sunday, Aug. 25.

Islanders are encouraged to donate any gently used balls, cleats, shinguards, socks, shorts, jerseys and goalie gloves that are no longer needed.

All donations are being sent to Mayan Families, a non-profit relief organization in Guatemala.

Donations can be dropped off at the South Mercer Playfields on Aug. 25 from noon to 6 p.m. Cash donations are also being accepted to help cover the cost of shipping the equipment to Guatemala.
