Girls soccer falters against Liberty

Islander girls soccer heads into mid-season after injuries contributed to a 4-0 loss against Liberty High School in the team’s sixth match on Sept. 26.

Match 1: 9/10 game at Roosevelt. MIHS-1, Roosevelt-0. MIHS Goal by Sylvie Dornay @ 37th minute (Assist by Katherine Vetter)

Match 2: 9/12 game at Lake Washington. Tie game MIHS-1, Lake Washington-1 MIHS Goal by Suri Johnson in the 71st minute (Assist by Mary Wall).

Match 3: 9/17 game at MIHS. MIHS-4, Sammamish-1. MIHS goals by Jamie Mounger in the 29th Minute (Assist by Stephanie Silke), Julia Meade in the 35th minute assist by Stephanie Silke), Kate Miller in the 57th minute (assist by Kianna Chang), Jamie Mounger in the 60th minute (assist by Julia Meade). Sammamish scored on a Penalty Kick late in the game.

Match 4: 9/19 game at Interlake. Interlake-2, MIHS-0.

Match 5: 9/24 game at MIHS. MIHS-3, Juanita-1. MIHS Goals by Namya Malik in the 8th minute (assist by Jamie Mounger), Sylvie Dornay in the 23rd minute (assisted by Mandy Wall), Michele Day in the 57th minute (assist by Namya Malik). Juanita scored in the 57th minute on a free kick.

The Islander girls played against Mt. Si High School on Oct. 1 at home after Reporter deadline. They play at Bellevue High School on Oct. 4. Varsity kicks off at 7:30 p.m.; JV at 5:30 p.m.
