Mercer volleyball beats Holy Names | Sports briefs

The Mercer Island High School volleyball team beat Holy Names Academy 3-1 Thursday, Nov. 7 in their first match of the 2013 District 2 3A Volleyball Tournament at Chief Sealth High School.

Sarah Lindquist had 29 kills and 12 digs for the Islanders, while Jemma Yeadon had 13 kills and 18 digs. Kirby Emerson had 5 aces, and Olivia Hughes added 4 blocks.

The Islanders play Eastside Catholic at Chief Sealth High School Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m.
