Mercer Island takes 5th at KSA Tourney | Prep girls basketball

The Mercer Island girls basketball team beat California's Segerstrom High School 61-26 to win fifth place Monday, Dec. 30 at the KSA Events Holiday Tournament in Orlando, Fla.

After losing to Ohio's Olentangy High School 60-50 on Friday, the Islanders won their consolation matchup against New Jersey's Ramapo High School 43-34 on Saturday before cruising through Monday's fifth-place game against the Jaguars.

The Islanders will travel to Federal Way to take on Todd Beamer High School at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4.
