Mount Si too much for Mercer Island fastpitch

With a four-run fifth inning, Mount Si pulled away from Mercer Island's fastpitch team Wednesday, April 30 at South Mercer Playfields. Kayla Varney went 2-3, hitting a double and scoring a run for the Islanders. Mercer Island will take on Bellevue at 4:30 pm. Friday, May 2 at South Mercer Playfields.

Baseball thumps Liberty

After leading 1-0 through three innings, Mercer Island baseball used a five-run fourth inning to cruise past Liberty 11-0 Wednesday at Island Crest Park. Brandon Lawler went 1-3, scoring three runs while batting in three more, Michael Petrie went 1-2 with two runs and two RBIs and Michael Bantle went 1-2 with a run scored and two RBIs. Next up, the Islanders take on Mount Si at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Si High School.
