Three Robinswood tennis teams headed to USTA Sectionals

Three United States Tennis Association adult league teams from Robinswood Tennis Center recently took home local titles and advanced to the USTA sectional championships, which will take place Aug. 22-24 in Spokane.

Advancing were men’s 2.5 group, Team Schmid, women’s 2.5 team, Team Gertmenian, and women’s 3.0 team, Team Lilley. Team Schmid features Islander Philip Schmid and MIHS teacher Roy Newton, while Team Lilley features Islander Karen Schmid.

All three teams are coached by Robinswood head pro, Jason Chapman.
