Makenna Pellerin and Morgan Peyou, last season’s Mercer Island fastpitch captains, both received scholarship offers to play softball at the collegiate level.

Pellerin, who graduated from MIHS this year, earned the Regents Scholarship, a four-year academic scholarship from California Lutheran University, a D-III school located in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Peyou, who will be a senior at MIHS this year, made a verbal commitment to attend the University of Maryland, Baltimore County after receiving an offer from the D-I school.

Pellerin finished her fastpitch career batting .466 for the Islanders with 110 hits, 7 home runs and 80 RBIs, while Peyou holds a batting average of .513 with 102 hits, 3 home runs and 33 RBIs.
