The Mercer Island girls U14 Maroon soccer team took the top spot at the Federal Way FC Blast Off soccer tournament, which took place August 1-3. After finishing second in its division, the Maroon beat the first-place Timber Barons Green of Cowlitz Youth Soccer in the title match, 2-1.

The Maroon includes team members Nicole Mandt, Catherine Yoshida, Ella Hensey, Robin Henry, Claire Molina, Ella Veljovich, Sarah Gest, Annelise Rorem, Ellie Sulla, Abbey Fahey, Mathilda Noone, Hannah Wainwright, Keathley Pinney Brown, Mackenzie Magnussen, Caroline Agress, Lexi Shurygailo and Elaina Martin. The team is coached by Tom Hill and assistant coach Steve Gest.
