Rotary Run: Volunteers

More than 3,000 participants are expected this year for the Mercer Island Rotary Run Day and officials need at least 300 volunteers to assist in the events.
Volunteer positions of all types are available to those wishing to participate in this worthy cause and festive event.

New programs at MIBGC
The Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club will offer new programs this year: Girls-only T-ball for ages 5 and 6, and girls-only coach-pitch for ages 7 and 8 with an optional machine pitch league.

Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club summer Skyhawks sports camps
The Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club is offering summer Skyhawks sports camps for ages 3-14. Sports include soccer, Tiny-Hawk soccer, baseball, basketball, Mini-Hawk, golf, football, tennis, lacrosse and cheerleading. Registration is now open and space is limited.

Mercer Island Rotary Run
The 33rd annual Mercer Island Rotary Half Marathon will take place Sunday, March 20. Last year, 2,300 people participated in either the half marathon, 8K Classic, 3 mile walk, or Half Mile Kids' Dash.
This year's event features the Virginia Mason Half Marathon Run and Walk, the Swedish Medical Center 8K Classic Run and Walk and the Mercer Island Reporter Half Mile Kids' Dash. Individual participants and teams are welcome.
A team is a group of five or more of all ages and can be at any level of fitness. The top team fundraiser receives up to eight round-trip tickets on Alaska Airlines to anywhere the airline flies in the continental United States.
All proceeds from the Rotary Run Day directly benefit colon cancer awareness and local and international charities supported by the Mercer Island Rotary Club.
Rotary is an organization of business and professional men and women united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards and help build goodwill and peace throughout the world.

Mercer Island High School girls golf head coach Don Papasedero is seeking statistical information on previous teams and student golfers.
Papasedero is compiling a statistical history on the program dating back to its start in the early 1980s.
