The Islander Middle School wrestling team defeated the defending league champion, Tolt Middle School, 58-25 on Dec. 16.

Individual results are as follows: 78 pounds - Jake Pruchno (MI) win by forfeit; 85 pounds - Luca Caruccio (MI) Taylor King 6-0; 90 pounds - Connor Gullstad (MI) win by forfeit; 95 pounds - Peter Mahony (MI) win by forfeit; 100 pounds - Will Medlock (MI) defeated by Nick Decker, second round; 105 pounds - Kenji Walker (MI) Jason Kissenger 15-5; 110 pounds - Edan Stern (MI) Curtis Chittendon 8-1; 115 pounds - Hayden Reisman (MI) defeated by Austin Robinson 6-7; 120 pounds - Sam Gottleib (MI) Austin Paxman 9-5; 125 pounds - Sam Alpert (MI) Josh Hooper, second round; 130 pounds - Chris Richards (MI) Alec Ward 7-5; 137 pounds - Callum McCann (MI) defeated by Michael Matwichuk 3-13; 145 pounds - Danny Stanke (MI) Eli Grady, first round; 154 pounds - Brian Rauzi (MI) Daniel Cattin, second round; 164 pounds - Alec Bean (MI) pinned by Allen Hobson, first round; 175 pounds - Wade Peyou (MI) pinned by Torri Cook, second round; heavy weight - Sean Pyne (MI) Adam McVey, second round.

Next match for IMS will be against Beaver Lake on Jan. 7 and Maywood on Jan. 8.
