Baseball team plays at Safeco Field

The Mercer Island High School baseball team got to play a non-league game at Safeco Field on Saturday against Kennedy and won 10-7.
This was the second consecutive year that the Islanders have played anon-league game in the major league ball park.
Jordan Richartz hit a home run at the ball park and had three RBIs, while both David Courtney and Cameron Wilson had two hits for the Islanders.
Islander Mike Potoshnik pitched three innings, giving up just one run and striking out four batters.
The Islanders continued to have success in league play, as they swept Juanita High School last week in a two-game series, winning both games by one run.
The Islanders beat Juanita 8-7 in nine innings on Thursday.
The team was led by Willy Reel, who pitched five innings and gave up just one run, on two hits, while striking out four batters. Reel also had two doubles during the game.
Islander AJ Simpson was the biggest bat for the Islanders, going 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Richartz also had two hits during the game.
Potoshnik gave the Islanders a 3-2 win on April 7 as he pitched seven innings, giving up just two runs and striking out four batters.
Simpson had two hits during the game.
The Islanders are 5-3 in-league play and 6-4 overall.
