The MIFC Islanders girls under-13 soccer team brought home second place from the Starfire Spring Classic tournament during the last weekend of April.

The team won two games, lost one and tied twice during the tournament, coach Toby Suhm said. He added that while the girls were disappointed with the overall outcome, they were proud of the way they made it through a tough field of competitors to get to the finals. Suhm said in the four tournaments which the team has entered in the past year, they have made four tournament finals appearances and have brought back one title and three second-place finishes.
