A team of Mercer Island third- and fourth-grade girls was victorious in the championship game of the Seattle Rotary Boys & Girls Club spring basketball league.
After going 7-0 in the regular season, the Islanders won their first playoff game handily before doing battle with the Lady Vikings in the final.
The Islanders led at halftime, but entered the fourth quarter trailing by a point.
The team rallied behind a stingy defense, limiting the Vikings to only four points in the fourth quarter en route to a 22-20 victory.
