The Mercer Island Youth Soccer Association girls U-11 Academy Maroon team won its bracket at the Federal Way Blast Off Tournament, July 31 – Aug. 2. The finals against the Maple Valley Tsunami was a thriller, with Maroon tying the score 4-4 in the last few minutes of regulation. In the overtime period, Maroon scored two unanswered goals to win 6-4.
