Sports brief | MI Girls Select Basketball Tryouts

The tryout dates are now set for the Mercer Island girls select teams. All Mercer Island girls in grades four through eight are encouraged to tryout. The MIGB Select program is a quality, successful program enjoyed by both players and parents.
Tryouts will be held at MIHS on Sunday, Sept. 27 and Oct. 4.
• Grades four, five and seven: 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Sept. 27, and sometime between 2 and 6 p.m., Oct. 4. Please stay tuned for which two hours during that time period.
• Grades six and eight: 12-2 p.m., Sept. 27.
Practices begin in October with a preseason tournament in early November, and league play begins the first week in December and runs through the first weekend in March. The annual Junior Hoopsters program will start up again in early December and will run until mid-February.
