During the Jan. 30 boys varsity basketball game the Mercer Island cheerleaders were joined by 50 little cheerleaders from the area.

An annual event, the little cheerleaders preformed a specially choreographed dance and cheers during half-time after spending the previous week working with the high school cheerleaders.

The Little Cheerleader Clinics are one of the main fundraisers for the MIHS varsity cheer squad, which helps off-set expenses, like uniforms. The clinics are run in both the fall and winter and is open to children in pre-kindergarten through third grade.
