For the second straight year in a row, the Mercer Island girls basketball team has won the KingCo title.
The girls, who beat Liberty last night 53-37, clinched the title after Mount Si beat Bellevue 57-54. This means the MIHS girls will enter the KingCo tournament next week with the No. 1 seed, securing a Thursday, 2/18 game at Bellevue College against the winner of the KingCo No. 4/No. 5 game.
In other basketball news, the Mercer Island boys also beat Liberty 65-42 and the previously undefeated in league Bellevue boys lost at Mount Si.
