The Washington Intersholastic Activities Association released the 3A girls state basketball bracket this afternoon, with the Mercer Island girls team slated to face off against Mt. Rainier in the first round.

The Islanders, who will play at 3:30 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome on Wednesday afternoon, will up against a 18-6 Rams team.

The Rams finished second overall this season in the Seamount league, falling behind Kennedy Catholic. They finished in fifth place in the West Central District playoffs, after losing to Bonney Lake. The loss gave the team the fifth place seed into state.

Mt. Rainier's top three scorers are Marisa Blair with 14.3 point per game, Kiana Gandy with 9.3 per game and Caroline Codd with 9.1 per game.
