The Mercer Island Little League baseball season opened on Saturday, April 10 celebrating the upcoming season with members of the Mercer Island High School baseball and softball teams, along with a few Seattle University baseball team members, as well as coaches from the University of Washington and Seattle U.

The ceremony was held at the recently completed South Mercer Playfield, which boasts several turf fields. Little league and high school softball games will be held on the fields for the remainder of the spring and through the summer.
