Mercer Island youth baseball teams find success in Yakima | Youth sports brief

Several youth baseball teams traveled to Yakima for youth baseball tournaments during the first weekend of May.

The Mercer Island select 10U Thunder team won their age division of the tournament, going undefeated. The team beat the Yakima Dirt Dawgs in the title match 11-3.

The Mercer Island 9U Thunder team also won their age division at the tournament. The team, which was undefeated in four games, beat teams on the first day of the tournament 31-7 and 28-4. In the final game of the tournament Andrew Jenkins had a last inning walk off home run.
