After a hard fought 80 minutes of play the Mercer Island boys soccer season came to a close with a 3-2 loss to Seattle Prep in a shoot out.

At the end of regulation the teams were tied with a scoreless 0-0, sending the game into two five minute sudden death periods, which also ended scoreless.

CT Crow, the first shooter for Mercer Island, sent his shot just wide of the goal. Seattle Prep's Ryan Wheatley sent his shot to the corner, opposite goalie Nicolas Terentjev for a 1-0 Prep lead. Perrin Guyer shot second for the Islanders, scoring, while Prep's Sam Wahl did the same. Danny Strome tied things at two goals apiece and the Pather's Michael Rheaume's shot was blocked by Terentjev. Jordan Morris' shot was also blocked, keeping the shoot out tied at 2-2. The final Seattle Prep player to shoot, Nick Scalzo scored and Kenny Nelson's final shot for the Islanders was blocked.

The Islanders finished their season 11-4-2.
