Mercer Island golfers advance to second day of state tournament

Several members of the Mercer Island High School golf team advanced to the second round of the state tournament, after completing day one today.

Chelsea Saelee had the top finish for the Islanders, finishing in a three way tie for seventh after day one with a score of 76. Course par at Horn Rapids Golf Club, where the girls are playing is 72.

Saelee's teammate Haley Chinn finished in a four way tie for 10th place with a score of 79. Sarah Peterson was in a three way tie for 30th with an 88 after day one and Kayce Ogishima was in a four way tie for 47th place with a 99.

Crawford Leeds was the Mercer Island boys team lone finisher on day one, coming in 29th, with eight others, with a score of 79. Course par at Meadow Spring Country Club, where the boys are playing is 72.

All will play in tomorrow's final round which will determine the final placements.
