Mercer Island doubles team wins Sea-King 3A title

Photo courtesy of Carol Gullstad The Mercer Island boys doubles tennis squad consisting of Christian Anderson/Chris Elliot defeated Lakeside’s Eli Fonseca/Jason Edmonds 2-0 (6-2, 6-1) in the Class 3A 2017 Sea-King District doubles championship match on May 18 at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle. The Anderson/Elliot duo had a perfect 3-0 overall record at the tournament. The Islanders boys tennis team won the Sea-King district tournament as a team. The Mercer Island girls tennis doubles team consisting of Chloe Gage and Grace Bethards captured fourth place as well at the Sea-King tournament.
