East Seattle School Class of 1946 reunion
The East Seattle School Class of 1946 is celebrating its 60th reunion this summer, despite the fact that it has only been 59 years since the former students finished eighth grade at the building.
The group decided to have the event sooner rather than later as their alma mater on West Mercer Way, may be demolished if the Boys & Girls Club is successful with its proposal to build a new sports and youth facility on school district land near Mercer Island High School.
The group plan to celebrate this milestone with tours of the school and dinner at the Roanoke Inn. Other ideas and memories from other East Seattle grads are also sought. The group is also hoping to find one or more boats to take the class around the Island. Call Ed Lightfoot at 425-644-9768.
