I have been surprised to see the letters from the “establishment” on the Island stating that we need to keep the “good old boys” network together and re-elect the incumbents! The recent mailing by the past Mayors association, which followed the letter from the current council members, that all would be lost if we did not re-elect the current group were particularly discouraging.

New thoughtful blood on the council can only be a good thing! New ideas should be encouraged, not disparaged and attacked. If anything, these letters, and probably more to follow should be a wake up call for all Islanders!

We have enough hate mail coming during a general election, we do not need it during our Island elections.
